Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in Redding, California. Her birthplace was on July 5, 1985. She began playing soccer at a early age, and honed her skills during her teenage years. Her fraternal twin sister Megan Rapinoe was a student at the University of Portland. Megan Rapinoe was a star of the university's soccer team being among the best scorers in collegiate women's soccer in the United States. An injury to her knee forced Megan Rapinoe's absence for a portion of her sophomore and junior seasons. In her junior year and began playing soccer all season long. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Portland. Her soccer playing career started in 2009. Her team was Chicago Illinois Red Stars. Rapinoe, who was a goal scorer for United States in the 4-3 win over Australia in the Olympic bronze medal game at Tokyo in 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus that Japan had to delay until 2021 because of the pandemic was awarded the gold medal at Tokyo in 2016.
